The LED project continues to move from a structured European competence framework towards concrete youth-led practice.
After defining the profile of the Youth Digital Leader through a competence-based approach, the project is now entering a new phase in which this role becomes increasingly visible in action. A Youth Digital Leader is not simply someone with digital skills. It is an emerging figure able to support young people in navigating digital environments safely, critically and confidently.
This profile brings together digital literacy, online safety, ethical use of technology, emotional intelligence, peer mentoring, inclusive facilitation and digital well-being. Youth Digital Leaders are expected to create safe and participatory spaces where adolescents can reflect on their online experiences, recognise risks such as misinformation, cyberbullying or digital pressure, and develop more responsible and resilient behaviours.
This vision is also connected to the future development of Youth Contact Points: local hubs designed to support digital education, youth participation, community engagement and access to European cooperation opportunities. In this sense, LED is not only defining competences, but also exploring how these competences can become part of a wider and more sustainable support system for young people and youth workers.
The next step will bring this work back into practice. The participants of the LTTA in Brussels will continue their involvement in the project by putting into action what they have learned, tested and shared. They will contribute to the preparation of the next project event, scheduled for November in Rome, where they will co-design training and experiential moments with young people inside a high school.
This upcoming phase will be an opportunity to transform learning outcomes into real activities, peer learning into facilitation, and digital leadership into a shared educational experience.
